Day after day

Day 0: We welcome you at the airport and drive you to your accommodation in town.
Night in hotel  in Whitehorse.

Day 1: We leave Whitehorse in the early morning to get to Haines Junction (1h30) where we stop at the Da Ku cultural center that also hosts Kluane National Park visitor center. While your guide registers the group with park agents you can visit the center and learn more about First Nations and the natural wonders of the Kluane Park. We then hit the road on some 40 kilometers to get to the starting point of our trek. The adventure begins with an easy first day with little elevation gain (+300m), during which we follow a trail through beautiful forests of balsam poplar and spruce.

Day 2-4: During these three days we cross the Dalton Range,  two passes in huge valleys where grizzly bears, moose, goats Rockies, wolves, etc. can be seen.  From early June to late July these high alpine meadows are covered with flowers that benefit endless days offered by the high latitudes. In the fall, late-August to September, the valleys lose their summer green and everything turn to yellow, orange and red. From mid-August, the lucky ones will even have the chance to see the northern lights dancing above the peaks! Along the way we have to cross Victoria Creek at two occasions. It will take us some time to identify the best place to cross and put on our open shoes before crossing the cold waters together (river width between 5 and 8m). Your guide has the necessary experience so that everyone crosses the creek safely. Day 4 will be the longest day of our adventure with 21 to 23km between camps. The daily elevation gain are very reasonable with 500 meters  on day 2, 200 meters day 3 and 100 meters on day 4.
Nights in tents. Pdj - Dej - Din (daily)

Day 5: We wake up on the shores of beautiful Kathleen Lake, facing the steep slopes often grazed by Dall sheep  mountain goats. We walk along the lake all day, facing the splendid view for over 12 kilometers, sometimes on the shore, sometimes in the hills until you reach the van in the afternoon. Then we take the road to Whitehorse where we arrive in the early evening. We then drop you off at the hotel and will be happy to recommend a restaurant for your last meal in town!
