Day after day

Exploring the wilderness around Whitehorse during daylight can be beautiful, but doing so at night, when the land is so quiet and peaceful, in the light of the full Moon is a unique experience!

As of January 2020, Terre Boréale offers the opportunity for hikers to venture in the mountains around Whitehorse at night, discovering a whole new world of lights and atmosphere. If we’re lucky, we’ll even be able to see the northern lights dancing over our heads!

The nights can be quite cold out on the land, it is very important that every participant comes properly equipped with adapted gear. Your guide will carry hot tea and snacks.

Different itineraries are possible:

2.5 - 4hrs tour (+30 min drive on way) around Fish Lake (easier option) $175 + 5% GST per person
2.5 – 5hrs tour (+50 min drive one way) up Nares Mountain (steeper, harder option) $195 + 5% GST per person

Tours start with a pickup from your downtown hotel (other locations possible as well, please contact us) at 9pm.

Dates for 2020:

January 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th (Full Moon), 11th
February 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th (Full Moon), 9th

In an effort to make your Yukon trip as enjoyable and as fair as possible, on the day of your tour, Terre Boréale will offer the possibility to shift your booking to another night (at no extra cost, depending on availability) or to cancel the tour and issue a 75% refund if the weather forecast indicates a very low chance of having clear skies that night (based on the ClearDarkSky and Environment Canada forecast websites).

In this case, we will contact you on the day of your booking to inform you of the low chance of having clear skies that night. In the end, it is your decision to cancel your excursion or not, your excursion is guaranteed to happen unless you decide otherwise based on trusted short-term forecasts.
